A native New Yorker, Diane knew early on she wanted to help her city be its best self, and working in the nonprofit sector was the perfect way of achieving that. With more than two decades of experience in the sector, Diane has a seasoned sense of what/the steps it takes to help a nonprofit overcome challenges and reach its full potential. Diane has successfully raised funds and overseen media for a range of New York social service organizations, including New Destiny Housing Corporation, Service Program for Older People, Mental Health Association of Westchester and Single Stop USA. Her experience includes every facet of fundraising, from writing proposals to corporations, foundations and government agencies, to managing a database, to developing both traditional and social media strategies.
With a deep appreciation for the arts, Joy wanted to help connect as many people as possible to the industry she had long been moved by, and realized that the nonprofit world would help her achieve that. Since then, Joy has successfully raised funds and provided consulting for nonprofits of all sizes, including the New York School of Interior Design, Borough of Manhattan Community College, Theatre Development Fund, Theatre Communications Group, Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, the International Theatre & Literacy Project, The Long Beach Jazz Festival, the United Jewish Appeal and the National Victim Center. She served on the Board of the New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as Vice President of Professional Advancement where she planned and implemented year-round professional development programs for fundraising professionals. She also co-chaired AFP's career mentoring program at Fundraising Day in New York, ran AFP's resume and career clinics and was recently a mentor in AFP’s inaugural mentorship program. Lastly, Joy is certified as a career and personal coach by the Coach Training Alliance.
